Cupcakes at Promenu
20.09.2018
In Britain, white dinnerware with blue patterns is a symbol of the Victorian era. And although those days are long gone, it is like with the jeans: it is always in style. The Mix & Match concept allows you to combine objects from different collections, different manufacturers and even different eras on the same table. The main thing is that all the items should be decorated with blue and white patterns. This colour combination is a tribute to the times when the Ming Dynasty Chinese porcelain first appeared in Europe and became an object of desire for every rich person. Remember the story of the “porcelain shelf”? King Augustus the Strong exchanged 600 Saxon dragoons for porcelain from the Ming and Qing dynasties, which one can see today in the Dresden Porcelain Museum. White and blue porcelain from British designer Laura Ashley inspired me to a master class on creating lavender vanilla cupcakes, which we held with Promenu for their clients. Cupcakes are one of the most beloved desserts in the UK. Literally everyone loves them, from young to old. You will meet them at children’s parties, receptions and birthdays, and even at weddings instead of a wedding cake. Easy to prepare and delicious dessert is the perfect blank sheet for those who want to show their creativity. For example, we decorated cupcakes with edible lace butterflies and precious stones from agar-agar. It turned out really cute!
