Ladolemono

This simple lemon sauce is one of the most popular in Greek cuisine. It is served with green salads, a variety of vegetable side dishes, fish and seafood. It is used as a marinade for meat and poultry, when adding garlic and herbs.

Ingredients

  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • oregano
  • salt

Cooking method

Step 1

Whisk the lemon juice with olive oil. Add salt, oregano and stir.

Step 2

Pour the sauce into a glass jar, close the lid and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Try adding 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic to this sauce, it adds a little spice and goes well with meat dishes.
